Happy Halloween! Today we got to visit the other Grade 3 classes for some Halloween activities. We did yoga, stained glass pumpkins, stencils, reading, and jeopardy!
In class we did some skip counting connect-the-dot sheets as well as worked on Halloween poems.

Pumpkin Investigation was a big hit!
First students needed to describe the outside of their pumpkin and estimate the amount of creases it had. We were trying to find unique and interesting words to describe our pumpkins. Next we had to carve out a lid and start scooping the guts out! At this point we were looking for describing words for the inside and also estimating the seeds. Finally, we carved our design in. After recess we counted all our seeds using skip counting and then graphed our totals as a class. Our classroom was lucky enough to receive a ton of new books from the the book fair! Thanks to our school for choosing our class! We are so grateful. We spent an hour exploring our new books and finding new favorites. Students had a blast and now have full book boxes with lots of choices. Ask your child if they found any "must reads"!
Congratulations to our two Leadership Award winners for October!
Lexus shows our class how to be a great leader by always being positive. She thinks win-win for all situations! She is also a great friend to everyone and always kind. Selah is great at putting first things first. She is always focused during class and tries her best. She is also very thoughtful which makes her a really valuable friend in out class. Great job, girls! We are so proud of you and love having you in 3G. We had a ton of fun at Fall Frenzy today. Kids got to enjoy fresh air and physical activity! Here are some photos. There are about 800,000 other students across the world participating, we will all be reading the same book! The goal is to try and connect with other classes and share our experiences.
