We have been doing a lot of stuff in 3G lately! I can't believe the end of September is coming so quickly. Here's a peak into what we've been working on. MATH We are working on Math By Myself in our Math Binders, we also just started using IXL Math which is an online math program. We are working on how many ways we can represent a number up to 1000. We know 5 important ways. 1) Standard Form=621 2) Expanded Form= 600+20+1=621 3) Written Form= six hundred twenty one 4) HTO chart 5) Using Tens blocks Try this at home! Soon we will be working on skip counting. READING We are really focusing on choosing a Good Fit Book and building our stamina. We have also learned 3 CAFE strategies. WRITING
We are working on coming up with ideas for writing and writing the whole time. We also know how to set up a writing page and where we can look for ideas. SOCIAL We are learning about maps! We also learned about our rights and responsibilities. HEALTH 7 Habits! So far we have learned 5 of the 7 habits. If you have a student in this class, ask them about what we have been learning about in school! I'm sure they would love to share all of their new knowledge.

Graeden and Kogan are our leadership award winners for September! Both these boys have showed exemplary leadership skills in the first two weeks of school. Graeden has a big heart and has been a kind friend to everyone. He always seeks first to understand then be understood. Kogan has shown leadership by being proactive, he is always sharing his ideas with the class and working hard to stay focused. Great job boys, we love having you in 3G!
We had an awesome day in 3G! This is one of many blog posts this week as we have a ton of exciting events. Today we celebrated International Dot Day, http://www.thedotclub.org/dotday/, a day celebrating creativity, courage, and collaboration. The day is based on the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds. We decided to 'make our mark' outside near the playground by using chalk to create some beautiful dot art work! We did great at synergizing too. This afternoon we will be watching a live broadcast with the author of the book, can't wait!
Hi all! I hope most of you received my e-mail and Remind notifications. I mentioned in the e-mail that I would post a quick survey for you all. This is just to help me out! It is all confidential so I won't know who answered what. I'm also going to post a fun survey for our students tomorrow to do while we explore our chromebooks. Happy Wednesday! Hello! I hope everyone had a fantastic long weekend and is back and ready to learn. Here are a few things we will be exploring this week.
We will be checking in again soon, if you have any questions please reach out! Miss.G |
